Foursquare are really going all guns blazing to be taken seriously as a social network, especially since the decions to scale back Facebook Places. This visualisation was created to demonstrate the widespread adoption of the service across the globe in the space of a week. However, it strikes me as being remarkably insular, with swathes of the rapidly developing world such as Brazil and India yet to jump onto the bandwagon. I’m also surprised at how popular it is in Holland.
